Skill Based Matchmaking

Infamy, ship tier, weapons, gear, total dmg, etc should all be considered into the algorithm. World of Warships has excellent matchmaking compared to BB, proof it can be done differently. I’m not buying the excuse that it can only be done one way. Have you looked into how World of Warships does their matchmaking? It is purely based on the ships [ http: It only makes sure people are playing with equal gear. So why is Battle Bay not using this approach? Battle Bay has a much more complex and deep progression game.

It has been redacted by the Insider and by me of course, names and such. All right, new preliminary results… once again, how do we…. He must be a noob who purchased his account! Starting for the type of tank they drive, the equipment they currently have, elited or stock, or in-between, the ordnance, the gun characteristics and the variables on how other 14 players behave for him and how 15 enemies will behave against him, each with its own set of independent skills, different tanks and ordnance, some will shoot premium, some wont, some will even shoot HE, so:

Based it on all the issues with WoT and what we learned then laid out all the things they ought to avoid and some potential ways of doing so. Of course none of it went anywhere, lol, so all those issues I discussed a few years ago are showing in all their rotten, predictable glory.

This is my first time posting a comment but feel that I should, I read the forum often. I’m just a have fun kind of tanker, a 6 year old and 13 year old also play this account. My stats are not great but I have fun. While I do have a premium account I have not purchased any tanks yet. I was in a match the other day and we won 15 to 0, the other team never got a kill. Took a screen shot of the teams, looked the players up on WoT and the WN8 websites.

Insider Returns to Talk About Skill MM

They will try to get whatever advantage they can – which involve using OP tanks with a full set of Provisions. I would have to do the same to keep up. Now you can argue that a good player is versatile and can use multiple tanks. When matches become really competitive, using the best tank is the only resort for the majority of players.

Apr 13,  · I also think the game is rigged but I don’t think it’s rigged based on a player’s skill level. I think it’s rigged based on a player’s win rate with a certain tank. In other words if you’re winning a lot with a particular tank then that tank’s in game stats (armor, penetration, etc.) are temporarily reduced which increases the chances the.

I wrote that I have the hunch of World of Tanks being a rigged game, where via matchmaking, tinkering with penetration and probably hit chances and damage numbers the developers guarantee that everyone remains close to the average in terms of kills and wins, so no one quits either because of “too easy”, nor “im pwned by nolifers lol”. The title is misleading because I still don’t and can’t have a real proof.

What I have is something that very much correlate to my theory and has one alternative explanation only: My girlfriend and me started new accounts. The idea is that the Marder II has mm penetration, therefore it can penetrate everything it can face if the match is unrigged and even if its penetration is halved, still can penetrate everything but T5 heavy front armor. Its gun dispersion is small and and the minimum shell damage is OK too. So the Marder II can ignore rigging and has the results that an unrigged match would provide.

What results am I talking about? Yes, top 5 reached with a tank that can’t be stealth-nerfed. And the matches were weird too. They mostly started by tanks on our side dead in 3 minutes.

Wot I Think: Blood Bowl 2

I wanted to explain a bit more about where it came from, what it’s supposed to do, and what future it may or may not have in Armored Warfare. First off, let’s consider the basic goal of the system: Provide matches where both teams have roughly the same average Winrate across the whole team. The idea was that if Matchmaking could deliver teams with a close average Winrate across the board, the outcome of the match would be determined by the actions of the players and not by the luck of the draw in what players ended up on the two teams.

In making these Winrate balanced teams, the system is also supposed to obey a few other constraints:

Wot is not based on Elo (player skill). That’s why I stopped playing it. A noob can face a hours vet in any tier. Nonsense. But without a PLAYER skill based matchmaking, it’s neither fair nor fun. The greatest PvP games are based on Elo (CS GO, Lol, Dota, etc.). That gives pretty well balanced games.

In Air Realistic mode, matchmaking is performed based on the aircraft selected for the battle. Since the vehicles not selected cannot be used in the battle, there is no need to include them in the calculation. In Ground Forces Arcade mode, matchmaking is performed based on the tank with the highest BR in the set. In Ground Forces Realistic mode, matchmaking is performed based on the tank or aircraft with the highest BR in the entire set depending on which vehicle has the highest BR.

Many players have a preference for several modes. For their convenience, there is a ” vehicle preset ” mechanism, which allows players to save preferred and frequently used vehicle arrangements in their hangar. This allows players to prepare for any type of battle in just a few clicks. Matchmaking by Bracket Air Simulator battles use this matchmaking method.

When the player opens the Air SB interface, they will see several identical missions where the only difference is the BR of the permitted aircraft. All you have to do is select the desired battle rank and assemble the required aircraft in your set. When the player opens the Tanks SB interface, the names of the vehicles permitted for the current battle will be clearly displayed.

Battles are regularly updated, so the team composition options also change. Tournament Matchmaking A relatively broad but simple matchmaking method.

What Tank? // WoT vs AW / “This is not the Hype Train”

I feel like people are only selectively reading some parts of what I write. I’ll write it again for the fourth time: What’s I’m saying is that we should have a random team face another random team of equal average skill. I understand what you mean 24 nigh identical players is not the same as 2 nigh identical teams in terms of whatever thing one uses to measure them.

What I fail to see, and I’m willing to admit that I might be wrong, does it actually make any difference in the end results? After all, matches are not fought one on one, but team versus team.

The Gold Spam Situation of WoT. November 11, World of Tanks 4, views .unlike in aiming is not based on RNG(i hope u know what RNG means). High amounts of RNG remove skill from the game and if you get killed / can’t kill an enemy because the game doesnt ALLOW you to do so although you did everything right it.

Why is players skill not used in random matchmaking? First of all, I would argue that a Skill Based MM system would be largely ineffective to solve the so-called problems that people want solved in the first place. This system would rarely result in balanced teams. Things that would throw it off are: One team gets a bunch of yellows that have recent blue stats, while the other team gets a bunch of yellows with recent yellow stats. One team gets a a bunch of blues who have green recent stats because they’ve been grinding things that bring their stats down, while the other side gets a bunch of true greens.

Putting any type of skill based MM into a game that has tech tree progression doesn’t jive. That’s even if it’s a simple extra sorting of teams once the players have been chosen. The status quo is purely random therefore fair. Any messing with the randomness will inherently lead to some unfair distribution of credits and experience in many situations. The MM pulls 30 players 3 of which are purple, 4 green, 5 yellow, and 18 reds. Whatever metric the system uses to sort the players, it would always have to value purples way higher than even greens, because the gap between a purple and a green is much greater than the gap between a green and a yellow, etc.

Maybe it would be a little different, but the theme would always be the same:

Skill-based Matchmaking

Vehicle loadout packages, equipment, consumables Nationalities Crews Player skill levels When creating a battle, the matchmaker first looks to place eligible large Platoons players , followed by artillery and then light tanks with scout matchmaking. After this criterion is met, other players are selected to fill the remaining positions, keeping the team’s weight balanced as closely as possible.

If the matchmaker struggles to meet the requirements for an eligible match, it eases up on the rules to avoid players spending too much time in the queue. However, the matchmaker never breaks the minimum balance requirements. If the matchmaker still can’t find a good battle after about five minutes, players get kicked back to the Garage.

But, assuming for a minute it actually based on skill versus being more an experience bar really, what would be preferable to skill based matchmaking? Just pure open queue to allow the better players even easier access to newbies, poor players, casuals etc?

World of Tanks

Teen World of Tanks is a team-based massively multiplayer online action game dedicated to armored warfare. Throw yourself into the epic tank battles of World War II with other steel cowboys all over the world. Your arsenal includes more than armored vehicles from America, Germany, and the Soviet Union, carefully detailed with historical accuracy.

A matchmaking system that does not balance player skill and experience so in many games the result is predetermined. Also, balancing the match making Price: 0.

This guide will touch on some key aspects of World of Tanks for players just starting while other guides will dig deeper into playing the game. World of Tanks usually has floating around several invite codes for new accounts for each server and they grant you various rewards for using one while signing up. It is worth remaking an account if you have say a dozen or so battles if you want a free premium tank.

Getting Started Tiers The first dozen or more matches in World of Tanks can be frustrating, confusing, and downright painful at times for new players. Learning the strengths and weaknesses of your tank and adjusting how you play is crucial and can be as easy as glancing at the listed stats in your garage or hopping online and doing a little bit of research. Tier battles are generally artillery free think snipers and playing aggressive while also keeping in mind cover rocks, buildings, etc is rewarded.

How do you do this? The easiest way is to simply bring up the research tree and look ahead at the tech tree at future tanks and their general stats. You can also hop onto the World of Tanks forums and dive into the new player and game guide section of the forums which has a vast amount of useful information. Since it was difficult when I started to play World of Tanks for new players to learn how to play the game I have since started to write the guides and articles found here on WoT Guru.

These guides are straightforward and tank specific in the tank guide section , and other guides will help you learn other useful bits for improving. This will allow you to always have tanks that are fully upgraded and capable of earning silver at a decent rate compared to new non-upgraded tanks that are difficult to play. It might be tempting to sell your current tank to fund the next tank but you will regret it.

September 17, Unlike in WoT, where there is an explicit matchmaking table, War Thunder has scant information on the rules in imposes on its matchmaker. It would be very useful to know what the rules are, in order to set up the most optimal roster of planes for an Arcade battle, and also for squads. This is what I think I know: MM based on the highest ranked plane in your roster. MM isn’t based on the absolute rank of your plane, but on the rank category it falls into there are 11 categories: So a Rank 4 plane roster gets the same MM as a Rank 5 roster, say.

In some ways, tanks—even the outdated WW2 versions—feel like the ultimate machine of war. But being a free to play game, World of Tanks can also be excessively grindy. Armored Warfare Here at Games Like, I try my best to recommend games with a balance between familiar concepts and new ideas. Sometimes I venture off into really weird territory based on a hunch I have. Other times, such as this, I recommend games that are pretty much just the same game. The biggest difference between the two games is that World of Tanks employs the use of tanks that were in service around and during World War Two.

Armored Warfare, on the other hand, is all about modern tank warfare. While many of the motions and controls will feel overly familiar for fans of World of Tanks, Armored Warfare also makes some significant departures from the multiplayer only battles of the former. Instead of always being locked into battle against human opponents, Armored Warfare has various co-op missions you can undertake according to which vehicle you are currently using.

At the end of the day, Armored Warfare is, like World of Tanks, ultimately a game about blowing up your fellow man. Of course, your opponents will have the same technology at their disposal. Finally, while World of Tanks is still a great looking game, Armored Warfare makes use of a modified CryEngine to stunning effect. The visuals are gorgeous and the game knows it. If that matters to you, it might help sway you in this particular direction.
